Matrei am Brenner is one of the oldest villages in Tyrol and is ideally located to easily access both the Stubai Valley and Innsbruck. The village offers a traditional Austrian atmosphere with excellent access to winter sports facilities. The world-famous Stubai Glacier, Austria's largest glacier ski area, provides snow-sure skiing from autumn until late spring. Innsbruck can be easily reached and offers an array of shopping, cultural and sports attractions plus many leisure activities.
20 kilometers south of Innsbruck nestles the village of Steinach am Brenner, the largest resort in the Wipp Valley which leads to the Italian border. This colourful village offers plenty to do with a number of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants.
